Pause… Restings on God’s words

  • Honesty in the Psalms.

    • I am weary with my crying out; my throat is parched. My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God.. Psalm 69:3
  • Slide-“Has his steadfast love forever ceased? Are his promises at an end for all time? Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his compassion?” Selah    Psalm 77:8-9

Main point- “Safe & Secure in Jesus”

vs. 1- Refuge.

  • “Preserve me”- watch over.
  • Refuge- “Shelter”
  • “I have no good apart from you”
    • -Mosh pit, skate vs. Other

  • “I say to the Lord”—> We run after other things.

      1. It’s not an “I don’t care what they think” That’s not an attitude of safety b/c it lacks vulnerability.
      2. It’s not a “Everything I am is what they think”
      3. “I got you” / “I don’t got you”
    2. In Providence
      1. Where we live. What we do, who are neighbors are.

SLIDE- And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,  Acts 17:26-27
