Hey Restoration Families!
We are encouraged to see God’s hand working in our hearts during this pandemic to rely on Him for a sense of stability and truth.

Parents, be encouraged that His Word never returns void! Keep on spreading light, love, and biblical truth to your kids and they will grow to be the sons and daughters that He has called them to be.

I hope you have been blessed to have the opportunity to watch and discuss the video teachings and the worksheets at R-Church Online.

This new Sunday school curriculum allows us to use a portion of the materials to use online. If you are enjoying these teachings with your kids, I would love to hear your thoughts! Email trina@gvcsb.com for questions or more fun ideas to teach God’s love to your kiddos.

Watch the preschool or the elementary video and use the discussion questions, worksheets, and a memory verse page that are available below!

BIBLE STORY | Mark 2:1-12

  • INSTRUCTIONS: Look up the story in your Bible and read it to your
  • preschoolers.
    • In this Bible story, the paralyzed man needed to get to Jesus, but he couldn’t get there on his own. He needed his friends to help him get there. The man’s friends carried him to Jesus, but the place was so busy that they couldn’t get inside. So they took him up to the roof! Can you point to where the roof is? The friends lowered the man down in front of Jesus. And Jesus healed him! The man could walk now!
    • Just like the man in this story, we have people we know that help us get closer to Jesus. They can pray for us and show us God’s love. Just like the four friends, you can help your friends get closer to Jesus by praying for them and showing them God’s love.
      • Why couldn’t the man get to Jesus on his own?
      • How did the man get to Jesus?
      • What did Jesus say to the man?
      • What happened to the man after he met Jesus?

PRAYER

• Dear God, thank you for our family, our friends, all the people in our lives who help us know you. Help us to notice the people who need our help, too!

MEMORY VERSE

MEMORY VERSE | Psalm 119:105
“YOUR WORD IS A LAMP FOR MY FEET, A LIGHT ON MY PATH.”

INSTRUCTIONS: Have kids echo you one or a few words at a time. To make it more interesting, try using funny voices!

QUESTIONS

  • Why did the man in today’s story want to get to Jesus?
  • How did the man get to Jesus?
  • What happened when the man met Jesus?
  • We can’t take our friends to see Jesus in person, but what are some ways we can help other people grow closer to God?
  • Let’s read Galatians 6:2. What do you think it means to carry each other’s burdens?
  • Who is someone you could thank for helping you grow closer to Jesus? What will you say to them?
  • Who is someone you could help grow closer to Jesus? How will you do that?

ACTIVITY

Give every kid an index card or whiteboard, and ask them to write a list of qualities they look for in a friend. When you’re done, ask, “Now how can you be this kind of friend to others?”

MEMORY VERSE OF THE MONTH: Psalm 119:105 (NIV)
